Meet Stephen – Your Automatic Driving Instructor
Hello, I’m Stephen — your local automatic driving instructor.
Before becoming a driving instructor, I worked as a HR Consultant to a large investment bank and I have also run a construction management company. Today I bring that experience, attention to detail and professionalism to help people learn to drive.
You will find me to be a patient, and friendly instructor, and I always adapt my teaching style to suit each individual learner — because everyone learns differently.
If you haven’t passed your theory test yet, I’ll happily support you with that too.
I’m a firm believer in “Safe Driving for Life”, and I take pride in helping my learners become confident, responsible drivers who are ready for today’s busy roads.
I also understand that not everyone is free during the working week, so I do offer some evening and weekend lessons where possible.
Refresher Driving Lessons for Licensed Drivers
If you already hold a full licence but want to rebuild your confidence, I also offer refresher lessons.
Whether you’ve taken a break from driving, recently moved back to the UK, or just want to get comfortable in a new car, I can help.
Refresher lessons can take place in my dual-controlled car or your own car — whichever you prefer.

I passed my test yesterday!! I am truly grateful to Stephen Board for getting me through the last few weeks of learning prior to the “big day”.
He was incredibly relaxed and supportive, easy to talk to and a great instructor. I have had a couple of instructors from other companies prior to Steve who I frankly felt were prolonging the process, but Steve was honest and I am so glad he had availability when I needed him!
